Both our hotel guests and many Weimar locals love our restaurant, Gretchens, on the ground floor of the Family Hotel. For the little ones the highlights are the climbing cave and one of the largest coffee cups in the world, which is located in the middle of the guest room - and makes even washing your hands before you eat a fun experience. The adults tend to prefer it because of the family-friendly atmosphere and the cozy ambience - there are only 48 seats, so a reservation is recommended.
When the weather is good, head to the rooftop - with playground, parasol, lavender field and herb bed. Not to forget the magnificent view over the rooftops of Weimar's old town. A pleasure for all the senses. Had Hänsel known about that back then he would have returned to Gretchens immediately and enjoyed the delicious creations of the kitchen team under the direction of Christian Franz. It goes without saying that there in an emphasis on ecology and sustainability in his kitchen, which is in line with the philosophy of the Family Hotel. The food is usually created with regional and seasonal products as well as, if possible, organic.
